It breaks my heart to hear about women giving up their babies when there are thousands of women who would give their lives to have a child of their own. At the moment of conception, there IS a living child inside there. I cannot believe our great country would allow us to murder innocent children that haven’t even been born.
First, playing the adoption card is a dick move. There are thousands of children in the American adoption and foster system that will never get adopted. Not every child that gets put up for adoption will be adopted, and pretending otherwise is purposefully blindfolding yourself.
There is not a living child, because those cells at the moment of conception are just cells. Those cells are not capable of thought, they are not capable of feelings, they do not have any characteristics of a human being. Those cells have the potential to be a human being, the same as an cell could theoretically become a human being. Your logic would have uterus-bearers go through pregnancy, which can be incredibly dangerous and can be lethal, and then endure either the most painful birthing process of any mammal or a Cesarian section, which can take quite a while to heal. In short, you’d like to see “innocent children” “saved” at the risk of the uterus-bearer dying. That’s very pro-life of you.
People protesting Tyler the Creator are ridiculous. Maybe it's just me because I'm a rational thinking person but...a musician is by no means a threat to gay rights or a threat to rape victims. The fucking laws and politicians are the ones that are really threats to you. You're opposing something that's offensive rather than attacking the actual root of the problem. Stop focusing on Tyler The Creator and get off your ass and actually do something worth while. Even if you got it to where Tyler could never make music again how does that benefit you? It doesn't. you're all just a bunch of sensitive bitches incapable of actually protesting in a way that would aid your causes. People like you are fucking annoying.
I’m sorry, but musicians, particularly at the level of popularity Tyler the Creator is at do have influence. People, particularly young people do get swayed by what they hear, and hearing someone they admire sing about rape and homophobia, and not in a way that say “this shit is stupid”, will start to think “HEY THIS IS COOL, RIGHT? THIS IS THE KIND OF SHIT PEOPLE LIKE!” and will act on it. Glorifying rape makes it seem fine. Acting homophobic makes it seem normal. These should clearly be not okay. It should be in the realm of “never okay”, regardless of who the fuck says it. I don’t care if it’s a politician, or musician, or the local drugstore owner that spews that kind of crap, I won’t support it.
The way our world works is celebrities can sway people by supporting an agenda. By making intolerant, homophobic, or plain thoughtless claims, they lend support to such agendas. Lending support, unintentionally or not, will lead people to support people of power that brandish those ideals. See how that would help to the politicians that are the “real threats”?
It might not seem like a big deal. After all, he’s just one musician! One person still has considerable influence. But look at it from our point of view: To support a man who condones these actions is supporting them, whether they’re a musician or a politician.
A mother passing by her daughter’s bedroom was astonished to see the bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then she saw an envelope propped up prominently on the center of the bed. It was addressed, “Mom.” With the worst premonition, she opened the envelope and read the letter with trembling hands:

Yours was actually what inspired me to make this! It’s a clever format!

THE THINGS I THINK WHEN I BROWSE THE ABORTION TAG.
How can we pray for world peace when we have mothers killing their babies? Not every woman can get pregnant. Its a gift from god. So why abort it? We know the consequences that come with having sex and pregnacy is one of them. So instead of taking a life just so you can keep living yours is just selfish to me.
Fetus does not equal baby, as you’ve already been told. Pregnancy might be a possible consequence to sex, but having sex is not saying “I WANT TO GET PREGNANT” any more than eating is saying “I WANT TO CHOKE”.
If both “lives” are equal, why should the fetus’ “life” be more important than the pregnant person’s life? Why should they have to give up hopes and dreams and goals for something else’s sake?
So here’s the story which really punched me in the face today, turns out my aunt is having trouble paying for my bro’s tuition fees, I offered her all my commission earnings but it turns out that’s not enough to pay for his sem. I wan’t to try to help my family by at least giving a little bit…
Tens of thousands of Canadians have written to me in recent weeks to wish me well. I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughtful, inspiring and often beautiful notes, cards and gifts. Your spirit and love have lit up my home, my spirit, and my determination.
Unfortunately my treatment has not worked out as I hoped. So I am giving this letter to my partner Olivia to share with you in the circumstance in which I cannot continue.
I guess I did not make myself clear. I do not hate homosexuals, real or fictional. what I do hate, is when people completely disregard a characters personality because it conflicts their unrealistic, perverted ideals. I’m making a desperate plea for sanity and respect towards the personal…
If women’s rights are a thing for you, it’d be nice if you could add your name to this. Idk, I feel like I should say something about how ineffective petitions can be, but in these cases I’d much rather hope that enough signatures might actually do something. I have my moments of naivety.
in the final analysis, the abortion debate is not about when life begins. it is about the meaning of sex. what most men and women who fight for abortion want is not so much the “right” to kill their offspring, but the “right” to have unrestricted sex without consequences.
Note to myself: never search any of the following tags listed below ever again. It’s way too triggering for little old me. My own fault for being noisy I guess. Maybe because I don’t like confrontation, but Jesusfuck, it feels like everyone is getting heated on those tags?
I don’t really get it…
People debate because we have different opinions, and we want people to understand, and agree, with us. Sometimes that doesn’t work, and all that happens is an ideological argument. Sometimes it does work, and one side convinces the other side of their point of view. The issues you mention are very sensitive issues, that are bound to cause debates and fights and disagreements, and sometimes ground-gaining. They hit close to home and heart and draw out people’s compassion and anger and frustration. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be discussed or fought over. Marriage, abortion, laws, government, immigration, these all involve people, and people are an incredibly powerful force, once we find something we can agree on.
One woman, Rosa Parks, helped spark a bus boycott by refusing to sit in the back of a bus where black people were supposed to sit. She became an icon against racial segregation, and is still honored today. One person that had a impact on a social issue. Just one.
stop shoving your fucking beliefs down other people’s throats and shut the fuck up. you’re not a fucking civil rights leader just because you call people “ignorant” and “judgmental” because they don’t support whatever you’re ‘fighting’ for, you’re just another unimportant person…
EXACTLY. what i’m saying is that when i write a post, i shouldn’t have to have hundreds of people in my ask calling me ignorant and judgmental just because i share a different viewpoint. i have no problem with people posting on their individual blogs their views, but i do have a problem with them coming onto mine and having the nerve to tell me that i’m wrong. i further explained here.
When you come on sites like tumblr, and you post an opinion on a sensitive or well known topic, you had better expect to be challenged! There will always be someone that vehemently disagrees with you, and chances are they will tell you so. If, going with your example, someone says that they hate gay marriages, people are going to take offense and say so. Asking people to be quiet about issues that are important to them is ignorant in my opinion, and people should have the right to speak their mind everywhere.
stop shoving your fucking beliefs down other people’s throats and shut the fuck up. you’re not a fucking civil rights leader just because you call people “ignorant” and “judgmental” because they don’t support whatever you’re ‘fighting’ for, you’re just another unimportant person in the world with an internet connection. and let’s face it: half of you wouldn’t have the balls to “stand up for what you believe in” in person so shut up.
You’re on a social website. What do you expect people to talk about, if not social issues on top of every day things?
Also, by your logic, you are also an unimportant person shoving your beliefs about us down our throats, and should shut up.
